Headers ?
I was wanting to get some fead back on headers for my 77.5 f-250 w/ a 400. I've been doing a lot of work on the old girl to get her ready for the smog test (carb re-build, plug wires, plugs, coil and some other things). The question I have is that it sounds like I might have an exhaust leak on the passenger side (It's not a metal on metal sound) and I'm wondering if it might be better to just replace the exhaust manifold with a set of headers. From what I can tell I think it might be a blown exhaust gasket.

If you are only doing it to fix the leak, I would just get new gaskets for the manifolds. You have to figure the cost of the headers, plus possibly having to redo your exhaust system. Also headers are notorious for leaking, the stock manifolds are less prone to this. Of course, headers will give you a performance bump.
