05 5.4L question

05 5.4L question

I just bought a 05 superduty with the 5.4L engine. Once the motor has warmed up it idles at around 600 rpm's give or take. When idling it sounds a little like a deisel. When you raise the rpm's to about 800 it goes away. Is this normal for these engines? Thanks.

How do you like your 05 with the 5.4 engine? Does it have enough power? What is your fuel mileage in the city? I am thinking about purchasing a 2005 F-250 crew cab, but I can't decide between V-10 or 5.4 ?

The SuperDuty's seem to have a different sound due to the exhaust configuration. It is probably a normal sound, but I would have the dealer listen to it just ot be sure.

I like the 5.4. It has plenty of power for the way I use the truck. I had a 2001 with the v10 and it was a good engine too. I want to put dual exhaust on the truck and don't like the v10 sound, that's why I went with the 5.4. As far as gas mileage, I only have 800 miles on the truck but I am getting 12 miles to gallon in town right now. It should get better after the breakin period.
