Anyone here using an inline fuel filter?
If so let me know what you like about it. Ease of filter change, cost of filter change.
After 3 HFCM changes in my truck in 36,000 miles, I am writing off that I could be getting that much bad fuel. I tend to believe that the system is a little inadaquate maybe for this part of the country with the high humidity and all. It may fill up with trash and gell too quickly. The first time and the last time it was changed. The filters were spotless. I guess you could say it is diong its job, but with warranty gone, they cost about $150. I think it would be much cheaper and better insurance to opt for a good inline.

As for compairing our trucks to that of an 18 wheeler is like apples to oranges. It may take a month (depending on the size and number of filters they are using) to realize they got some bad diesel.
I drained the HFCM today, with about 3 tanks full of fuel through the new HFCM I got about a 1/3 of a table spoon of trash out of it. A lot more than I would have expected. I have been using power service additive. Is one fuel conditioner better than the rest if you think you already have a problem starting in your tank?
I know that I will be draining/ monitoring this closely for the next couple of weeks.
Also worth mentioning, since the storm here (Ivan) everyone in town has been doing great volume sales in diesel, which would tend to make me think alot of people would be having problems. So far I have herd of none, although I don't have alot of friends that have diesels.
