Rubbing Flywheel

I just finished installing a new motor in my 93 F-150 (302/5.0) and the flywheel is rubbing like mad! When i turn the motor over without the ignition on, it does not rub and turns fine. When I start it with the iginition, it squeels and makes a bunch of noise! I pulled the inspection plate to look at the flywheel, and It appears that one section of the flywheel (near one of the Troque converter to flywheel bolts) is freshly chewed up a bit. About 1/4 of the flywheel is chewed. After taking about 8 hours to get in the truck, I do not want to have to pull the motor again! Any suggestions on what to look for??

Thanks.

Nate

Shimmed her up

Well I remedied the squeeling flexplate problem. I shimmed the starter with a few washers and it now starts and makes no noise. I know you are not supposed to have to shim the starter on fords, but it cured the problem and seems to be alright. Bust have been a little bit different from the T-bird to the F-150. Now I just have to get her running a bit smoother. She starts and runs, but not at a good idle. I will borrow a timing light and try to get the timing straight tomorrrow.
