I think he went back to his home planet for the hollidays. I hope he forgot to take all the info he has been gathering, cause if he did,his superiors might not let him come back!
I did some research as well, a few days ago 'cause I was wondering the same thing. He's upset about something, and hopefully will come back after he cools off. -TD
I sent him a pm with an apology in it, and a explanation of how sometimes a link to some sites can get grabbed by vermin and redirect the user to a spyware download site. I was not trying to get him upset and maybe he took it the wrong way, but it was a bad link, and it was not his fault for it happening..I do hope he returns, his postings were always interesting..

He got mad when he was told a link he posted was a site for a spyware. I went to the link a few times and never had a problem with a spyware I hope he returns soon also
The site was not the problem, it was that the user was redirected to a different site that contained the spyware. if you read up on some of the lastest antispyware/spam boards they do talk of this happening to users, it happened to me, I posted a warning to others to beware of it,and e-mailed the site about it. Most webmasters of a site, when they find out about it will fix the link.
Tell how you feel for me when I check out these links that are *Loaded* because I have to check for content.
Yes, I have to click everyone.
So Apparently now I have my computer problem from one of them.
My computer is slowing down everyday,(even though I have dumped 18 programs to lessen the load) & no one knows how to get rid of this without F-disking the HD.
Dennis I feel for you, its like playing russian roulette.
If it was me doing that , I would set up to hard drives each with its own operating sytem, one would just have an op system virus protection and a online provider, use that to check links and such....then email yourself anything you wanted to save.rebooted to the other main drive la laa .then if you have to rebuild it would be pretty easy, and most systems have room for second drive, plug it in and build it....well there are a couple of steps you would need to do...i keep a spare HD, pre -built with the basic's for my lap top just in case the vermin do get me....

I have a similar setup with mine; only with a partitioned single 120 gig drive. The primary drive on my laptop is EAT UP with *stuff* on it; I have moved the files and data that I need to keep over to the other, but have been too lazy to reformat the primary...its been 6 months now and I still dont see it happening too soon
When I clicked on this post the first time I got a "parse error" and some gibberish, maybe Mike W is in the the system now, you know like lawnmower man......... j/j
Thanks Taz....He has not read the pm I sent to him, if someone know him or can get in touch with him ,let him know to at least read my PM, I hope that it will explain things and also this thread......
