I was wondering if anyone has installed the Pro Comp ES 9000 shocks on there truck. I found them for like a great deal to replace my factory squeaky shocks But i cant find anyone in town that has installed them. I am stuck between either those shocks or the Ranchos 5000 but i have heard that the ranchos make the ride like super stiff. Any advice would be much apreciated. Thanks
Richard
I was also wondering if there was any way to use the vin number of my truck to find out everything that it had come equiped with when it was built. I had bout the truck used and i was wondering a couple of questions.

Reason: forgot to ask another question.
I can't help you with the shocks, but the vin will really only tell you body style and engine. Most info is in the door jam. It will give you axle codes, trans etc.
What questions do you have?
i was really looking to see what the gear ratio was that i have in there and little stuff like that. just so i know. I also wanted to know if the truck came with the towing pakage that had the big oil and tranny cooler. Thanks for responding.
I have Pro-Comp shocks on my truck and have no complaints. They are plush. Check with a 4-wheel parts rep because from what I understand, some Pro-Comps and some Ranchos roll off of the same assembly line. Also, they often has buy 3 get 1 free sales on Pro-Comp shocks, which is even better.
I put pro comp explorer es9000 shocks on my 97 f150 4x4 long bed about a year ago. They are firm but not harsh. I have been satisfied especially for the reasonable price. I bought mine from Summit Racing with the buy 3 get #4 for free deal.

Never had any Ranchos.
thanks dude that really helps out my decision. I think that I am going to get the Pro comp 9000's. There is a deal at 4 wheel parts for like $140 for all 4.
Thanks for the response that link that you sent me was really cool. I think that i finally got everything figured out for my truck. its all starting to come together.
