fender bender

i was driving to our hunting club early (4am) on thanksgiving morning, when a deer ran out in front of me while i was doin about 70mph. i didnt even have time to hit the brakes and luckily i didnt loose control of the big rig( 03 f250 psd 4x4). when i got out to look at the damage i was shocked. obviously there was no head light on the drivers side, tore up the grill pretty bad, bent the drivers side tow hook, put a nice deep dent in the bumper, pushed the left front fender back about 2 inches and crinkled it all to pieces, and last but not least put a large dent in the drivers side door. my insurance company came out and did the estimate and all that fun stuff and said that my truck wont be ready for about 2-4 weeks. the worst part of it all is one: i have to drive a rental car and two: i cant go hunting for a long time either. but on a good note, i didnt get hurt so thats a plus, but it sucks cause now the truck outta commicion for awhile.

My father hit a person on the highway doing about 65. No kidding.

89 F-250, bent the front bumper, destroyed the grill, passenger side headlamp assembly, passenger side quarter panel, hood, and radiator.

The guy he hit.... well, There wasn't much left of him. There was blood everywhere, even on the back tailgate. It was disgusting.

Before he inexplicably ran across a 4 lane interstate, he was beating on his girlfriend and was high on something.

A good friend of the family was runnin with my dad through wyoming and flasher stepped out in front of him, you could see where his arms had slammed down on the grille and hood(peterbilt) and it darn near totalled the truck, happened so fast. Another friend had a guy on a crotch rocket decide to kill himself and he head-on the truck running in excess of 150 mph. The guy is screwed up mentally still.

Just throw the deer on top of the rental car always sucks to mess something up.

I had mine hit at the fuel island in a truck stop last year. While repairs were being done the other guy's insurance wanted me (6'6" and 285 lbs) in a mid-size car. I told the adjuster I use the pickup for the property and, while I do not need to tow for a week, I will need the rental to be a pickup.

He hemmed and hawed for a bit then put me in a 4x4 half ton. It worked for what I needed for that week and the rental company didn't even ask about the mud on the truck.

I'm not in the insurance business and it may vary from state to state but in Florida they gave me a comparable vehicle. This was the case when some old lady tried to park in my wifes trunk.
I'm sure they won't be able to get you a 250/350 but I don't see why they can't hook you up with a large SUV.
