You coming up to Waterloo for detasseling this year? If you are, let me know and maybe we could hit McD's or something for dinner.
I haven't been up to waterloo for a few weeks, however, I've been around the Conrad-Grundy-Morrison-Lincoln area almost everyday this week. Thats not too far from Buckingham.
Maybe one of these days someone will turn on the heat around here....
There is still a seed conditioning plant in Belle Plaine, but I cannot remember the name of it for the life of me.
I get the opportunity to look at a lot of corn in eastern Iowa in my travels... Over that way is some of the most even, best looking stuff I have seen.
I think they downsized their growing area after they closed to plant in Marengo.
A few years after Dysart and Marengo plants merged, no seed was grown south of Hwy 30. Then recently they closed the Marengo plant and expanded the Dysart plant.

Gro Alliance is in the old Funk's plant in Belle Plaine.
The detasselers sure have had a comfortable summer this year. I'm thinking that it would almost be cold to get wet from the dew in the mornings when it is this cool.

You got all the facts there....
Sounds like this is going to be the coldest July since 1893.... The mornings are pretty brisk, I wouldn't want to out there without the rain suit on. We've have dew practically every morning since the 16th in one area or another.
