I have already replyed in that thread. Keep us posted on a date and a location. From the looks of things, a midwest meet might happen easier than the nation wide meet that has been talked about.
more localized is generally easier, not as far for the main focus area to travel. I would be hard pressed to attend something a few states away, but if it can be done within a day, not as big a problem.
Here's an update on the Midwest meeting, any input would be great...
We are still in the planning stages with the Indiana Chapter Members. The location so far would be U.S. 41 Drag Strip in Indiana. Maybe in June or July.
For an Iowa/Illinois/Missouri meeting what month best suits everyone? June - July?
I know we are looking to try for 3 states, but participation in Missouri has become low, a thought, how about the Cordove, Il dragstrip? been a while since I was there.
I misstyped, it is Cordova, Il, right across the river and a shade north from the Quad Cities, more specific, Davenport, Iowa. Cordova Dragway, do a search, I believe they have a website. The World Series of Drag racing is held there every year, UDRA I believe.
Hey all, just bringing this back up, it looks like the date will be the third weekend in July, in Keokuk, Ia at the memorial park. There is a marina about 1/2 mile from the park, on the banks of the Misissippi for those who want to use it. More details to follow.
time to bring this back to attention, just trying to keep it in everyone's minds as to the fact of the event, and trying to get an idea of how many would like to attend.
As far as I am aware at this time, it would be a one day thing. probably Saturday. There are plenty of hotels around, Holiday Inn, Fairfield inn, Country inn and suites I think, and others.
