Thumbs up Mpg

Well, I finally crunched the #'s on this last tank of gas and am pleased.

When I first got the truck, I was only getting about 12-13 MPG.

With the Spuerchips tuner and premium gas, I averaged this last tank out to about 17.8-18.5 MPG. NOt bad. I have 12,000 moles on the truck now.

XLT Regular Cab, 5.4 3.55 LS.

I imagine by the time I finish modding it (intake, exhaust, tonnoeu) I will be reaching up into the 20's.

thats great, you think it was more because of the truck breaking in or the chip? mines is up around 14 now that i got over 10K on it. hopefully i will be able to afford the premium tune when i chip mine. you notice anything when you switched over to premium? im trying to see if its going to be worth my 2.60 a gallon here!

2.60 a gallon!?!?! Good god.

Well first off, using higher octane will geive you moe MPG anyway and the chip helped a bit too.

I think it was a mixture of both the SuperChips and truck breaking in. Also, I drive 65 on the Interstate instead of 75 now. I drive an hour and a half pretty frequently on the interstate. It doesnt get me there very much quicker to drive that fast and save me a heck of a lot of money round trip.
