Ford250, you might try changing out the oil pressure sender. It is at the back of the block above the oil filter, and only costs about $5.

I have heard that the pan gaskets can fall apart and plug up the oil pickup. Would be more pronounced at high speeds. I heard that dropping the pan is supposed to be a bear on the 2.3 engines. Oil pump is at the front of the engine and pickup is at the back, thus having a looooong pickup tube, which kinda gets in the way of dropping the pan out the back. UNlesss... you can drop the pump down from the block or the pickup down from the pump as you used to could on the 332-352-390-406-427 fat blocks. Drop all the pan bolts, lower the pan as far as possible, unbolt the pickup from the pump, drop pan and pickup all as one... had to rotate the crankshaft to a specific spot to clear counterweights, but was easier than pulling the engine.
Unbolting motor mounts will help, but I think you will run into the firewall before getting enough clearance..
