it really does depend on the truck/trailer combo. For my F150 Off Road I have two 2" drawbars, one 3" drop, one 4" drop, and a pintle/2 5/16" combo with no drop. Depending on the trailer's tounge weight and hight I switch. Rarely do I use the same one twice in a row. I followed Uhaul's advice about the 18" rule and it was a waste of money. I needed to have mine higher than that. But leveling the trailer was very important, as I was hauling livestock.

Light as feather and rated at 13,000lbs with a 2000lb tougne load... This site says 1300lb tougne. It says 2000lbs on the 2" drop 1" shaft size I bought.. Whats nice is you don't need to grease them. No rust, no mess if you want to put it in the truck...

If you want to cover all heights buy one of these... http://www.hitchsolutions.com/rapidhitch.html
