Linkage.....missing

My clutch pedal sunk to the floor the other day on the way to the dump, after a loud pop. I crawled under the truck to find that the adjusting rod from the linkage to the clutch fork was missing! I've checked Sacramento Vintage Ford and Pick 'n' Pull and Napa with no luck! Anyody know where I can get this part? Currently I've used bailing wire to hold a 14mm wrench in it's spot and that worked to get me to the dump, but I don't trust it more than that! Also the tranny is not stock, it has a top loader 4speed of some sort that I havn't been able to identify yet.....is this going to come into play when looking for my missing part?

Never knew of those companies, thanks for the advice. I checked out D.C. but unless they call it something other than an "adjusting rod" I couldn't find it and LMC seems to only have body parts.....I did add them to my favorites however, I'm sure I'll be using them in the future! I've been wondering though if it's possible to do some sort of "upgrade" to avoid this linkage problem, does anybody know of any posibilities of switching to a cable or maybe even hydrolic?

I've got the adjuster rod at Autozone in the "help" sections. Threaded rod with hole in one end, with adjuster on other end.

I've fabricated them before too.

You could look into hydraulic versions like used in circle track cars. Mount pedal in cab, then mount actuator to push/or pull on throwout arm. It could be done. A cable version would be more complicated to convert to, IMHO.

If you could wait, I'm sure I could dig another one up in my garage.

LMC does list one "clutch release rod" # 43-6252 $9.95

(they list pretty much ALL the pieces except the pivot mount for frame)

Thanks for the heads up, I have similar post in another forum and a guy said I can get that part at Autozone as well. I think I'll try them first and then modify the linkage parts so that they can't break in the future. Member: "Putt" has done a great job and even has some pics to show, if anybody wants to check out his gallery! The hydraulic mod sounds good too, but if I can make the linkage bomb proof for cheap, I think I'm gonna run that route.
