fires but won't start
Hello, I have a '92 E-150 with a 302/5.0 that won't start. it will turn over at a normal rate for about 20-30 secs will fire at first then it smells like it floods out and then acts like the starter draws too much power. the battery is good i just replaced the starter. ANY HELP PLEASE!!!

crash687 may be right. i like to take my volt ohm meter and tinker with a manual and a few beers. i found that the beers keep me from panicking and the manual has enough info to steer me down the path. in an older car i had the same problems. once it took the charger on start to get it going and the other time i had to replace the crank sensor. good luck

You really not providing much info, sounds like you may have a few diffrent problems, is there any service codes logged?... does it drag down the starter with spark plugs removed?, do you have enough fuel pressure? possible injector pouring fuel into a cylinder?

with the plugs out it turns over fine..as far as the fuel pressure, i removed the fuel pressure regulator and turned the key on and gas came out from there but not much pressure behind it and i haven't bought a code reader yet so im unsure if there are any codes

Sounds like the ICM to me. Take it off, it's on the drivers side fender behind the battery, look for a gray/aluminum heat sink. Have it tested repeatedly, it may not fail the first time. It could be a fuel issue as well, but with the symptoms sounds more like ignition.
