Today I was snooping around in my 2001 Ranger and thought I'd see what kind of bulbs are in the dome light. The light cover has a switch mounted on it. So, I pulled at the edges of the cover with my finger nails and it didn't budge. Then I pinched it front to rear and pulled, then I pinched it door to door and pulled and neither way did it budge. There's a little slot in the cover right where it meets the roof. Am I supposed to stick something into that little slot to release a keeper? Or, what's the secret?
Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

The light lens just pops out. My 2001 Ranger KC 4x4 had a single light controlled by the dash. I bought the xlt dome light (three bulbs instead of one & controlable from the light itself) and switched them out. It is a piece of cake. Just pop out the lens and remove the three screws. Mike
