im trying to hook up my playstation2 to my girlfriends big screen TV. its a sony, with surround sound and has the control box under neath it with a DVD player built into it, its all pretty new.
ive tried hooking it into pretty much every port, on the tv- front and rear, and also in the video one / two on the control box. ive tried using the auxilery functions and the video one / two function on the control box.
why is it that i can get sound from the playstation, but not video ??
im sure the playstation 2 works just fine... just used it at my house.
how many wires do i need for the playstation?... in the back of it i have the power cord, and the red, white, and yellow cord. are there any others i may need??
let me re-phrase my last question.... i obviously need a jumper cable from the tv's control box to the tv, but do i need one that is supplied with the playstation2- cause i feel like im missing a wire here...
yeah, i realize that id might as well be explaining this to an amish person, because there are so many options here and you obviously cant see it. ive tried hooking it into the front video 2 input on the front of the TV, then turning the tv itself to auxilery, no luck, and to also turn the control box to video 2, no luck... now im starting to think i have an extra cord that came with the playstation laying around somewhere or with the original box it came in.
ive also tried hooking the 3 wires into every input in the back of the tv
There are only two wires from the PS2. On certain TV's you have to hit the aux. button a few times to switch through the different ports that the TV has. I'd recommend going straight through the TV.
channel 3/4 won't work unless it hooked up through the cable inlet. And with ps2's there shoudl be a red, a white, and a yellow. Did you try hooking it up to another tv in the house?
get a svideo wire and hook it up that way, you get better picture from it too.
if you plugged it right into the tv it should work, are their input for the plugs on the front of the tv? those are the easiest.
