I searched, but didn't get a clear answer. My dad is having problems with his 97 f150 4.6 V8, 95k miles. When he merges onto the interstate, or get ready to pass someone, the truck feels like it is bogged down. It Doesn't do it when he takes off, but only when he downshifts. The truck has recently been servised with a major Tune Up(wires, plugs, the works) I thought that it may have something to do with his K&N intake, so I cleaned the filter, and didn't help much. I thought that a throttle body cleaning would do some good. Would this help? Any insight on this matter?
Also take a look at the fuel filters if they haven't been changed in a while. The injectors are designed to run at a certain pressure (19lbs IIRC), the filters get clogged and you'll feel sluggish.
I used an artist type camel hair brush and alcohol, no, not jim beam, rubbing alcohol, 90% or better, pull the maf from the snorkel leading up to the throttle body and clean with the brush with alcohol, be careful, fragile filament
