EGR valve

I have a 1993 Ranger with 3.0. I have failed MD.emission and think EGR is not functioning. Any manual I check does not show the proper location. I look and it appears that it is down under the distributor since I see a vaccuum line heading that way. There is little space back there to see from top. Are there any knowledgable of the location of this .please help

EGR valve

You don't have one. Try a tune up and good fuel to pass, if you want to spend money try a new oxygen sensor.

No EGR Valve in 1994 Ranger XLT, 4L, 6 cyl motor

I failed an emission test today. They could not find the EGR valve. How can I "prove" that my truck does not have one? Ideas?

Thanks

Your Ranger should have an EGR valve. My 94 Ranger has it on the driver side behind the throttle linkage. If it's not there, someone has taken it off. A tube from the driver side exhaust manifold connects to the EGR valve.

EGR valve location, 94 ranger 6cyl, 4l

Delta,
Thanks for responding. I cannot locate the EGR valve. I, nor 2 different mechanic shops can where one might have been mounted. Diagrams show a location, drivers side, with 2 holes for screws in manifold, but that is not on my manifold. Diagram also shows this location, but states that it is for 'california' models only--this was on an All-Data CD used by the garage. So--more help needed--if it was removed, what mat. and $ will be required to replace so I can pass the EGR emissions test. The truck passed the emissions test, but failed the EGR.

As far as I know, '94 California Rangers have an EGR system, but non-CA '94 Rangers do not.
