Air Intake Filter

i bought a MAC air inductions system from motorhaven.com, for my 3.0 liter v6 2003 ford ranger. i was just wondering if i can use k and n filter cleaner and oil kit to clean the MAC filter. if not, should i but another cone filter? Did i ruin the filter?
Pretty sure you can use the K & N filter kits to clean the MAC filter.

You should be fine servicing your MAC filter with the K & N kit.

I've heard good things about the chip, but I don't have one installed on my 3.0L (Taurus), so I'll let others chime in on that.
