tranny shift problem
i just had the tranny rebuild for my 73 F-260, It a c6. After i changed it out if seemed to be working fine, then i took it to my girlfriends house and on the way it blow a hed gasket. So i changed it out a few month later, and now if wont shift into 3rd not even manually, 1st, 2nd, are fine. I need Help Dont Really Know ahole lot about tannys. so any Help will help!

Sounds like the vacuum line to the modulator valve has been left off. Check the vacuum line that runs from the tranny up to the back of the intake manifold. It is either broken or unhooked.

I had the same problem, not shifting to third and it was the vacuum line.One of my buddies had the same problem after an engine change. His problem was because he hooked the vacuum line up wrong. It was tied in with the brake booster, which isn't right. I was told the booster has too much volume to be cosistant.

hey guys thanks for the replys. I gound the problem, and sure enogh it was the vacum lines in the back of the tranny, Iguess when i put the intake back on i pushed the line off some how but problem fixed so thanks guys!!!!
