Engine mods done, much better now
I just finished up putting an Edelbrock carb (750cfm), cam (RV type), intake (performer), headers (Sanderson Block Huggers), and complete exhaust system on my 78 E250 Quadravan conversion. It has a 460 with about 90K on it.
Subjectively, it makes quite a bit more power. I can now accelerate from 70 while going uphill, against the wind. Something I could not do before. I don't know if my gas milage will improve or not, but I don't expect it to get worse.
While at it I put on a flex fan, a new water pump, and new timing gear/chain. It should be good for a few more miles now. I am waiting for my starter heat wrap to show up, the headers are very close to the starter now.
Next step is to the body shop. I need some work around one of the rear windows, and I am going to have the very bottom of the body, from the trim down, sprayed with bed liner.
Then the real fun begins, I need a receiver hitch up front and a wilderness rack on top.
