Question CD changer adapter vs. fm modulator. help needed

I have had the same clicking and refusal to give my CD back that buzzardmountain was having last month. I am looking to buy a changer for my 2000 f150. I really don't want to change the factory HU. What are the pros and cons of getting a fm modulator model or having the adaptor put on so I can run directly from the factory HU? Pioneer, and Alpine are my first choices.

None that i can see, except that you have to have an external control unit to control the changer. This can be a problem with limited space on dash to mount. Some say sound quality is not as good, but I've never noticed. I have had good luck with pioneer units in the past.

I used one of those fm modulators for my mp3 player and the sound quality was pretty crappy (even on high bitrate mp3's). I bought the belkin one. I don't use it anymore since I bought a new HU (avic-n1) that has a place for me to plug it in.
