FM Modulator Installation

I have searched extensively and can't find any instructions for removing the factory HU and installing an in-line FM modulator. Can anyone tell me how to remove the trim pieces around the HU and remove the HU? I am about to get XM radio and until I buy an aftermarket HU or someone figures out the aux in, I will have to go the FM modulator route. Thanks!

To know how to remove your factory HU we need to know what vehicle you have also if you don't have the equipment yet and you buy through www.crutchfield.com they will send vehicle specific installation instructions.

I'm sorry, I have an '04 XLT with the basic sound system. I know crutchfield will send instructions for stereos and speakers, but I wasn't sure they would send instructions for an FM modulator.

I would opt for anything but an fm modulator. just installed xm commander w/ an fm modulator on my 04 expedition and it sounds like AM radio. check with Blitzsafe for a wiring harness for your specific head unit and go from there. I am sure it will be worth the $60 or $70 that it will cost you.
