Hello, I am looking for a little advice on how to replace my existing 2001 power telescoping mirrors? I have purchased a new set of the 2005 power, heated, telescoping signal mirrors, and I am assuming that I need to remove the door panels to get to the hardware. I dont want to break any mounting tabs on the panels and if anyone has done this before, I would greatly apprciate some advice.
Thanks very much in advance!
James
Absolutley great information! I followed the steps and found all the right connections and completed in about 4 hours. The mirrors look awesome, Thanks for the tip!
Got mine off Ebay a few months ago-same deal $399 shipped. New in box-OEM Ford part numbers-made in Australia. Heated, power, telescoping tow mirrors. Great deal-well worth it. He auctions off one set at a time. Keep an eye on our own classifieds too. I've seen them there too.
i have a 00 5.4 supercab with manual mirrors and am looking to upgrade to power telescoping signal mirroes. is this possible, and has anyone done this?
Anything is possible. You will need to do some wiring though. I do believe the 2000 is not wired in the doors for signals. My 00 F250 Lariet only had wires for power mirrors. I added heated tow mirrors and had to tie the heaters into the power supply for my windows. There was no sign of any signal wires. Of course you could pull wire from under the dash or elsewhere for your signals.
