I have a 94 Lightning. I have a set of white spoke 15's and 30 x 10.5 that I put on every winter. Kinda makes it look like a tonka truck. It does ok, and I also got a set of chains that fit the tires. They are very close to the stock height and width (without chains). It needs weight too.... but does good.

Funny thing about the Gen 2 Lightning, they just don't make snow tires for that size wheel. If you are talking about a Gen 2, what I would suggest doing is buying a set a 16" rims for a 97-03 f-150 (just like the one you have tucked under the truck as a spare) and mounting them with snow tires if you must drive it in the snow. The best idea is to buy another vehicle to drive during the winter, at least that is what I did.
Just get any snow tire that the tire shop can put studs in. You won't ever slip. However, if you want be able to turn/stop well, you should probably get some for the front also. As mentioned above, i doubt they come in 18". Just pick up some cheap 16" rims to mount them on.
Well, not driving it is obviously best, but for those of us who must: get some 16" wheels, and "75" aspect ratio Blizzaks, and some sand bags, and she'll do fine.
I cant even think of driving a Lightning in the snow! But the tire I recieved with the my 2000 I just bought 4 days ago has M+S on it. But I dont think I would even take it in mud. They Are Toyo tires.
