I need '66 CC door panel metal spring clips & interior screws

Hey guys - continuing to work on the interior of my '66 CC/CS. Unfortunately my white door panels are missing a bunch of those small metal spring clips that attach the door panel to the holes in the door and the chrome trim strip. I called a few dealers and they aren't reproduced. Anybody know where I can get some of these?

While I'm on the topic, I've used the links here to go to the dealer sites, but for this year truck I'm finding LMCtrucks and Macsautoparts to be 2 pretty good ones (selection and price). Any other suggestions? I also need an interior trim screw kit - macs is out for up to 6 weeks (don't want to wait that long) and LMC is made of stainless and 3x the price. A couple of the sponsors here like NPD and Kanter don't carry it.

Cheers,
dagger

I would check with your local auto paint supply store or auto upolstery shop. Luckily for me, I have both within a 10 minute drive. Between the two, they have anything you can want, usually in stock. Bring a sample down with you and they are more than willing to help out.

Just a thought, --Mike

Hey Mike - that's an idea I hadn't about for sourcing the door panel clips. I'll call around. I'd still like to find the complete screw kit in stock at another recommended vendor.

Thanks.

Thanks Mike, but I couldn't find any there at Sacramento Vintage Ford. Did you have a specific page/part number?

Thanks,

Do you have a picture of the clips your looking for?
Ford most likely used the same clips on other vehicles as well and you may be able to find them from suppliers that cater to them. Like mustangs or torinos and such.

Interior stuff starts on page 274, at least in the printed catalog.... Nothing for the 61-66 specifically as far as clips, but perhaps they are the same as the older trucks use (there are pictures ).

No luck so far. I went to an auto upholstery shop. He didn't have anything like these metal clips. He looked through his catalogs any didn't see anything either. This is bogus - there has to be something that works (I don't want to drill for trim screw holes!) or find someone with a parts truck.

Dagger,

Can we make some out of decent wire stock? I have a few that seem to be "sprung" and if they are that hard to find I might start looking into making my own.

I'm unsure exactly what type spring clips you're seeking, but if they're like the ones for the chrome strip at the front (windshield) edge of the dash, then you might try this: Get some "Xmas tree fasteners," and trim the heads on two sides to where the heads will slide into the backside of the chrome strip. Choose a fastener with the right diameter "trunk" for the holes, and you'll have success.

Door panel trim clips

I see this is a old post but I am also looking for these door panel trim clips for my 65/cc. My interior is all finished but I need 10 clips for 1 panel.

Dagger: Other vendors would include Flashback F100's, Carolina Classics, Dennis Carpenter....

For the Trim clips, see this thread

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-question.html

For the Phillips Screws, go see your local Auto Body Shop Jobber, they should have cabinets full of screws/clips, bound to have the screws.....

378586-S32 .. Clip-Attach door trim panel mouldings to door shell / Obsolete

At one time, carolinaclassics.com had these clips under their part number: 378586

There's no way to look up applications of standard (hardware) parts by themselves, so there's no way to know what other vehicles (if any) used these clips.

Clips are listed under the mouldings (20963 - 20987 - 20997) in the body section.

Clip shown as 378586-S in pic:

UPDATE: Tues, Jan 31/2017
I called Carolina Classics yesterday, thinking that the clips not showing up on their webpage was because of the major revamp to the site.
Well, turns out their supplier is no longer making them, as they felt the demand isn't there.
He gave me the supplier's name, and when I called they do have about 100 clips left in stock (after my order to top up my quantity on hand to where it needs to be to do all four doors on a Crewcab)

Supplier info is below
