Hello all...
Greetings from middle Georgia. This is my first post.
First, let me say that this website is truly helpful!
Okay, this is a stretch, but I gotta ask M.Stephens if he/she still has the tank selector valve? If so, how much will you take for it?

Reason: mistake
Checking the switch is a piece of cake. Remove the switch. On the back of it, there are 6 terminals (2 rows of 3). All you need to do is take a multimeter, set to ohms, and insert one end in the center terminal that corresponds to the heavy red wire coming in (this wire is your fuel pump power source). Take the other lead and make contact with the lower or upper terminal. Flip the switch and check for continuity (zero on the meter). If you have continuity, that side is good. Put the second lead in the other terminal (leave the one in the center). Flip the switch and if you have continuity then your switch is good. The other side of the switch is for the fuel gauge.
You can also check your fuel pumps here real easy. Take a jumper from the center lead to terminal below and above on the plug. If you don't hear your fuel pump humming when you do this, your pump is bad.
I've got one right here in my hand from 1988 F150. It works good and doesn't leak. You can have it for the cost of shipping, if you are interested.
This is a very old post, but I need a F1UZ-9B263-B Fuel Tank Dual Function Reservoir for my 1989 F150. If M Stephens still has the one above available, I would like to purchase it. Thanks
I checked the switch and it seams to be fine but the problem is that my truck has been rebuilt all the way and they took off the bed and put on a one tank bed and the truck has a two tank switch and the gauge does not work in either position do I need to completly wire it different or can I just put in some jumpers to make the gauge work and suggestions.
The switch should still work on the tank that you are using.
The bed would not stop it from working.
This is a very old thread and you may want to start a new one.
Thanks for responding.
Ive checked the switch and I dont know what else to do any suggestions I was checking it with my multi meter and a test lite and when I used the test lite the gauge moved does that help.
