Wierd auto trans shifting
My 99 Escort With 80K auto trans/w mobil 1 trans fluid has a really wierd habbit. Sometimes when coasting like 20-50mph and I get back on the gas it will rev up and get into gear kinda rough but not all the time. Also when I take off sometimes it "stumbles" when I watch the tach I do believe it is also trans related. When I go up a Hill like the gravel one by the house real slow less than 10mph I think It is in 1st gear and mid way up the hill it stumbles and acts like it upshifts but if I manualy put it in 1st it will downshift and act normal.
I changed the fluid/ filter about 5K miles ago and the fluid is full and has no burnt smell, or no shavings.The fluid is crystal clear-no debrees/ light pink in color

I have little funds and can't afford a trans overhaul
Please tell me it is a CHEAP senser or something

I called dad and he thinks it is electrical because it has been doing this for a little while and the fluid should/would be burnt and have flakes in it if it was an internal problem like clutches or the TC failing.
Tomarrow I'll call my local dealer and ask if they have a software update for my 99. if they don't I take it to Autozone and use their free scanner tool even though it does not throw a CK engine light/ or trans light. I'm atleast hoping that It will shine some light into what is going on. My LAST option is a trans shop as thier out to make money and probly will say the trans is toast when all it needs is a $15 sensor and quote me $3K because it is FWD with my luck.
