Question Iowa Chapter Membership List

Still learning to navigate around this forum, with mixed success.

Two questions:

1) Is there a posted membership list for the Iowa Chapter?

2) If not, is there a way to use the entire FTE membership list, and sort on the states, to get a collated Iowa registrant list.

Not looking for email addys or anything like that, just some reasonably complete idea of who is here from Iowa, and where in Iowa. I've looked through the introduction forum, but a compiled list would be convenient.

It must be maintained somewhere because someone referred to Roger's Missouri address in an early posting as really standing out among the Iowa members.

I have it easy on that , I'll have to investigate it, I know it can be done. Somewhere or another I saw how to do it. Since I have some administrative access, I get a link that does it for me. I will have to get back to you on that. Location can be a bit tough, because not that many list their location other than Ia or Iowa, so it makes it a little harder to discern where exactly they are at.

ok,I'm going to cheat for now, try this link and see if you get access.

Doesn't work..not enough priviledges.

Should get the location of all Iowa members...get a map of Iowa, and start putting dots on it. Give us a good idea of the "density" for certain. Heck..could get an event up North if there were a decent cluster. Just an idea....wouldn't tell WHO is where...but we all have any idea of where we are already. Most of us that post at least.

Well, that stinks, more work for me. Oh well. But as I said, it doesn't give me location unless they listed it in their profile. Many don't, for whatever the reason. The only way to accurately get that info is to have a thread devoted to it, like the Missouri chapter has done. One of the mebers is doing just what you said, taking a map and pinning it for where each member is, but it is based on the thread responses. The membership list only shows the members screen name, state, and if given, their location. The screen that comes up on the membership IS their profile, so all I have is each individual profile. If you really wanted to do a search, you would be able to get similar results by going to the member's list, at the top of the page, click advanced, and search by state. You will find we have only a small percentage of Iowa FTE members actually joined the chapter. Many are hit and run users, very few posts. Some are not. To narrow the search, type in 10 post minimum, and the list gets considerably shorter. That's how I did it on the membership drive when we first got going.

Was there really one planned for Cedar Rapids - ever?

There likely will be in the future, but I'd not heard about one here previously. I've only been involved for one short week, but believe Roger would have mentioned any CR activity in the past.

We had about 4 show up. It was myself, Rob, (Mosterbaby), Shane (hippie 1620) and Rob (cowboywannabe) It ended up being kind of cold, and the vendors were pretty proud of their stuff. I did find a 16.5 tire for my truck though, maybe should have bought the set of 3 he had left though, lost one on the way or he would have had all 4. That was back in October, Terry. We have a good number in the Cedar Falls'Waterloo- Iowa City corridor. I would venture a guess at half our members are within an hour's drive of the area, if not in the area. The second largest majority is Des Moines area. The remainder are kind of scattered after that. You know, Taz, for some reason I was thinking that you were from Dysart. Not entirely sure why, just had that impression. Obviously wrong, but just had thought that.

I wasn't knocking anyone, just stating who was able to get there. I always make tentative plans, because I went hardset, I'd get burned. Never seems to fail, something always gets in the way.

i went thru the Introductions thread and entered the towns the people said they lived into my streets and trips program on my laptop. i came up with 25 people that had posted that information there. there are about 19 different towns here in iowa and 1 in missouri.5 live in the des moines area, 3 near iowa city, 2 in burlington, 2 by centerville, 2 by waterloo, the rest are scattered thru out the state. 18 members live on the east side of the state ( using I-35 as the line ) 7 live on the west side. if i had everyones home town i could add them to the list and show a map showing where the iowa chapter is located. kind of a push pin map without the pushpins. i can een show tags as to who lives where.
