96 ABS Code Reader

Can I use a cheap OBD II code reader to diag my abs? The !@!^$^&*# light is on and the brakes are soft.

I still love the truck.

Welcome wildboar,

You can actually get them checked for FREE......head over to your local Autozone and they will pull them for you. Then you will atleast have an idea where to start diagnosing your problem. Im sure if you write the codes down and do a search here ( nice feature for common problems ), you should get a good idea on how to proceed BEFORE you start randomly buying parts...
