i posted this maybe 2 weeks ago now im planning to put a 360 out of a 72 f250 into my 82 f150 anyways im getting the truck on friday and planning to pull the motor tranny t-case and anything else i want i only got a few replies last time do you hardcore motor swap guys really not know about doing this im only a 18 and im pretty sure you guys all have more expierence than me. i am thinking im gonna need to make a crossmemeber or possible make the one out of the 72 fit since the sumps in the pans a opposite from each other please help me out here i think it is very do able but i just don't have all the knowledge
thanks for the input the motor already has high comp. pistons headers intake, and carb im not gonna do much more maybe a cam or something its a 4x4 toy and only really sees the road when im going to and from the woods
forget about the cross member they are two completly different trucks.you can probley mount it by using 300 frame mounts from an 80 up but as you know the base wouldnt clear.
And since this is going into a 4x4, you will want to find a 4x4 or rear sump pan for your 360. Becasue you are trying to put a motor into a truck frame that didn't see this engine family, you are going to have to do some fabbing. Basically, pull everthing out of both trucks, slip in the new parts to your 82 and start welding. You will probably need to do drive line mods as well. Take your time and do it right, no sence in having a hack job when it's done.
