2003 F-150 Supercrew sputtering

What does DPFE stand for and what does it do? How much do they cost? Is it simple to replace? So let me summarize what I need to do. Take off the vacuum line from the ERG and plug it (golf tee?). Drive it at that point to see if it still stumbles? If this fixes it then replace the DPFE?

Yes plug the hose with a golf tee or screw or whatever.
If that helps then the likely cause is the DPFE but there are other possibilities.
DPFE stands for Delta or Differential Pressure Feedback EGR sensor. Some manuals say it's Delta, others say it's Differential.
I'm not sure of the cost of a DPFE but they take about 2 minutes to replace. If you work slow
