I did the Dallas to Austin and back run this weekend to work on my race car and passed 12,000 miles. Combined city/highway mileage using fuel in fuel out method got a little over 17 mpg. No cruise, 75 to 80 and trying to stay out of the way on IH 35. After the y pipe fix and one injector o ring in first 9000 miles have been trouble free. Knock on wood.... Good luck to all and their super duty's
Matt
My 03 was getting 17ish out on the freeway @ 78MPH.. Had the 'law' with me, and didn't want to say I was going 80!! Although people were passing me like I was going backwards.. Don't know yet what the 05 is getting.. But, the thing thats odd, was that the 03 fuel gauge would drop like a 'rock' for the first 3/8 tank or so, and then move alot slower to 'E' even with the same driving conditions all the way through.. The 05 hangs at full for a long time, and drop faster through the rest of the gauge.. 03 was a SC, and the 05 a CC.. Hope it gets close to the same MPG.. OR MORE!! Was going to test it this long weekend, but the trip was canceled
I have an 04/04 F-250 with a grand total of 3300+ miles on her with no problems (knock on wood). I love the truck and the only beef I have was draining about 1.5 quarts of oil out of her after the dealer's free oil change. Did the first one myself at 1000 miles and decided to take advantage of the freebie before winter and get some 10W30 in her.
Same here with the fuel gage. Won't budge off of full until 130 to 150 miles and then drops fast until a little above the 1/2 full mark and hovers for a while. I can usually get 300 to 330 miles on a half tank. All depends on how heavy my foot is and how much idle time I get. Typically on mostly freeway driving I have been getting 17.3 mpg at 72 mph unloaded.
