I am looking for ideas on updating the interior of my 78 F-150, anyone got pics of newer style bench, buckets, consoles, dash ideas. Let me see what you have done.
I installed a bench seat from a '91 F150 XLT. It feels like buckets and has a fold down center arm rest. It bolts right in, took about 20 min to install and cost about $150. Sorry no pics.
If i remember, ill snap some pics of my headliner, and my center console i built , and throw them in my gallery for you. I need to get the pics anyways. I still have alot of work to do to the interior of my truck, but i just bought another toy thats taking all my cash right now. Hopefully ill have the pics up around 6 my time tomorrow morning.
Check the user galleries for pics. There are a lot of 73-9 galleries showing some neat ideas. Just make sure you click on the "view other galleries" link to see all the tech pic galleries etc.
There are lots of posts on repair, replacement, or upgrades for individual items here also.
Right, the bench seats (one piece bottom) from '73-'96 will work. Just remove your seat, swap the old seat adjuster rails to the new seat and bolt the new seat into the truck. Very easy.
i have a catalog that has various aftermarket interior products as well as original replacement parts...it has a cool headliner in it that fits right in where the factory one goes.....its black with 4 built in speakers that are positioned behind your head...you can also get them with a hole for a stereo or CB radio...u can get the catalog for free at www.LMCTrucks.com ... very handy for these trucks.......
Since my truck is painted John Deere Green I covered my headliner with Green pool table felt. It looks nice and wasn't too spendy as I bought a used felt in good condition from a pool table supply co. for $50.00, other wise the new good quality felts can run $250.00 - $300.00. I had the dash ripped out and sprayed it with the same black textured bedliner spray I used in my bed; it turned out looking a lot better than I thought it would & is easy to clean.
I had a new glove box made out of galvanized sheet metal at a local sheetmetal shop ($40.00), I just gave them the old cardboard one for a pattern, it's much more solid I also lined it with pool table felt.
The next thing I want to do is to get my hands on an old F-4 jetjocky joystick & mount it on my 4spd shifter and have all the buttons control diffrent functions through relays such as horn, wipers, high beams, nitrous!
