I have a 2002 f-350 7.3L PSD 76,000 miles I changed the oil in it on Friday now it stutters when you slow to go around a corner and then pick up the throttle again. also if you are going like 65 or so down a slight grade and your giving it very little throttle input it stutters or misses something no sure. Should I change fuel filter? New to diesel.
I would change the fuel filter and clean the fuel screen do a search on this site for it. A fairly easy thing to do, also try some diesel kleen. Diesel kleen is a diesel fuel additive that cleans and lubricates injector, can be found at most auto part stores. Hope this helps and fixes your problem.
OK guys replaced the fuel filter and it was still stuttering and missing so I drove it to the gas station filled it up drove home and now it is gone! So would a bad tank of diesel cause this? or do I have a fuel supply problem when tank is low? Or is it just in remission for the time being?
i have the same problem alopez, well it sounds the same, except it happened after i changed the fuel filter, not before, but i have been running it and havent had any problems, that was maybe like 6-7 months ago. i was wondering about the throttle sensor going on mine, the other day i was going up a hill and punched it, and when i started to back off the go pedal it seemed to stick. is it hard to change the TPS?
Allright guys, it came back but not the same. It now only stutters when it is cold!! (I am plugging it in) after it gets to operating temp. it seems to go away I have no idea what it could be, bugging the crap out of me though. why did this start to happen only after I chaged the Oil like within 2 miles on the new oil not before oil change? Help please!!! Tank is still full. CPS???
I would consider replacing the CPS next, possibly look into the Injection Control pressure sensor and ICP requlator. This is what I would do, but I'm not a mechanical expert... I just know a metric crescent wrench when I see one! Good Luck and keep posting... I always learn something new on this site... Thanks
