Changes in noise
My Mar '03 has 20k on it and recently the engine loudness fluctuates back and forth at light throttle. Is this the pilot injection malfunctioning? Sounds like I just yawned and my ears popped. Any ideas? Thanks, Neil

PI only works at idle. With throttle and increase in RPM, PI stops functioning normally. You might be having an EGR issue. Try unplugging the EGR and see if it goes away.
Does your truck have the original flash? If it was flashed with October 03 or later, you don't have PI any more.
