GM has DRL on all it's USA & Canadian built ju..I mean, vehicles! Must be a deal with all the bulb manufacturers! I believe they are required in Canada.
Yea its mandatory in Canada that all new vehicles have drl's as it is proven fact that they help prevent accidents and deaths on hwy's, Sad Ford and Chrysler dont use them here its a nice safety feature........If it were up to me the big 3 would be indicted for manslaughter, deere81 if that 454 couldnt do the work you had for it you had the wrong truck and no the 6.0 dont compare the 454 but the 496 sure does, go test drive one at once
Why does Canada mandate all vehicles have daytime running lights, but does not mandate that you use them? I was just in Ontario and, not being sure, asked a Canadian. I was told you don't have to have any lights on during the day.
I saw one with the reverse "wink" today! Had to be the best thing I got a laugh out of yet. He had it lifted, but was running tires no bigger than stock!
I never laughed so hard, well except for when I was reading #######'s make believe posts!

Woa! Wait a second! Normally, people put the biggest tires that a truck can handle on first. Then, they decide to go with a lift if they care for something bigger. That truck must have looked like a coffee table. Lol. .
Yeah, I got a good laugh out of it. I'm pretty sure all of his truck buddies do too! Plus the tires stuck out from under the truck. Normally on a four wheel drive, that wouldn't look bad. But when the tires aren't much bigger than stock, it kinda looks ridiculous! I don't think they were much bigger than 31's! It was hard enough for me to stop laughing, let alone, stop laughing and keep driving!

Theyre cheap lights. They use the same 3157 lights we use for taillights and front turn lights. Wedge style. But they used some overseas brand. My father has a "other" truck with the lights, and he didn't drive it a week when one went out. I replaced them with some Long-Life bulbs that seem brighter than before.
Sylvania 3157 are good bulbs. I have a couple of trucks that use them. Rear application only! Lol. It must be those front fixtures. They must allow moisture or something to make them crap out. I have a customer that has a GM truck and every time I look, there is a bulb out. I questioned him and he just rolls his eyes. Oh well.
Jake: Sylvania's are good versions, but make sure you get the Long-Life Versions. They'll last something like 5000hrs.
Mine werent an overseas brand unless sylvania/osram is an overseas company, they are one of the leading manufacturers of automotive lightbulbs
OURS WERE NOT! Ours had some other name, and they had a grey base where all Sylvania's have black. Same as what my friend's 1999's were. True they haven't been in long enough to prove they'll last longer, but I think these sylvania's will because they are long-life versions.
Daytime running lights, what a joke. I can't speak for the whole world, but in IL we have something that makes them unnecessary during the day: DAYLIGHT! The only thing those do is make it harder to see vehicles coming down the road without DRL's. Thus I suggest they are a safety hazzard.
Anyway, I saw one today that had one out and the other one was flickering like a headlight on a big rig.
Like a rock: Can't escape from driveway without help
