quick sub question

ok i am putting two 8 inch subs under the back seat of my 02 explorer and i was just wondering if it would make a difference wich diredtion they fired? i know i'm not going to get the thump my 12's had (obviously) but i was jsut sondering if it would be better to face the speaker at the floor, directly up into the seat or facing up and angled forward as much as possible. like i said just wondering. thanx.

Downfire the subs. Keeps garbage off of the cones. Gives a good sound, I have my subs setup that way in my truck.

Just my opinion.

now would that be firing straight down to the floot with and inch or two of clearance, or angle them to the front a little?

Mine fire straight down. Due to my truck style, I have almost 5 inches of clearance from the sub to the floor.

You should still do fine with a couple inches of space.

I only have about an inch and a half (if that) of space from the floor on my q-logic box (holds 1 10) and it hits hard. Good luck with the build.
