rear spring hanger

Well I was crawling around the rear of my truck today and noticed that my front rear spring hanger is rotten and actually partially cracked through. Does anyone know where to get some new hangers or lightly used ones. I don't really want to fab them if I don't have to. I have a 76 F-250 4x4 and my rear springs are 2.25 inches wide.

I know the Ford parts dealers carry the hangers for 3" springs . . . only something like $40 for a pair. I'm not sure about the hangers for a highboy. Maybe someone in here can tell us if this is the same spring width as the 2wd trucks. If it is then your Ford dealer will stock them new.

My local ford parts dealer says that he doesn't have parts for trucks as old as mine. Is it just mine or are all ford dealers this way. 76 highboy

I have a 78 F-250 snow commander 1ton 4X4 and my back rear spring hangers on both sides rotted and snapped on me...i found a 3/4 ton flat bed in a salvage and bought the hangers and springs for both sides for under a 100 dollars...mighta been $80....taking them off is a chore.. u gotta take a torch and heat the factory rivots till they glow bright red and beat them out with a big hammer...i blew a couple holes in my frame with the torch before figuring that out...oops....then i mounted the new hangers and springs with grade 8 bolts....oh yeah i had to go to the local truck spring shop to buy new U-bolts..Its always a good idea to change those out if they are the old stock ones...make sure u remove the gas tank before using a torch under your truck..i took my whole bed off so i didnt have to lie on the ground to do it.good luck.......

My solution to remove the rivets was to use a grinder to take the heads off and then to drill out the centers. The torch is probably a little faster . . . I just don't trust myself with a cutting torch near my frame.

You Okies are an impatient bunch aren't you? It took me less than 10 minutes for my first side and about 5 for the other side, once I had it all figured out. My fear with the torch is blasting the frame accidently and then having a messy fitting bolt. But then again I don't have steady hands.

I think I saw somewhere that I could get new spring hangers but now can't find the post. I need the rear spring, front hangers( the ones without the shackles). I also am going to remove my bed which won't be fun. I need to tear the floor out of it and replace it with something(any ideas). I was thinking 1/8-1/4 inch diamond plate
