Pulled my NFG 400 apart... and well I couldn't tell for the life of me if it has a 400 crank in it. It was a "rebuilder" at some time..V covers say 400...most things i've taken apart lead me to believe 400... but not sure 100%.
Was looking for a casting number on the cank..but found zip?
where should I look? What # should I find?
Well I was planning on it.. but as three cylinders would need to be sleeved..I would be better off finding another block to build and just use this crank.
( although I may have shot myself in the foot- kinda hit the rod bolts into the crank journals( 2) when trying to beat rusted pistions out enough to pull the crank...oops
Found an entire parts truck with running 351M today...plus lots of other goodies I can use...depends on what we can work out for it...we shall see.
