Yeah I know, I didn't take it personally. It just makes me angry that I spent all that time and it turned out to be the cat. What really bugs me is that it sounds like it is coming from the engine on the drivers side, but the only cat that rattles is the passanger side. Its just very frustrating.
Did you crawl under the truck and grab hold of the cat with a towel to see if the vibration stops? Mine does. Try it just so you can be certain that that's what it is for sure. Try it before it gets too hot though. Hot things, if you touch them, can cause blisters and peeling skin, such as chowing down hot melted pizza so fast that layers of skin hang down from the roof of your mouth for 3 days.......oooh i love that!!
I was telling Tom that this is a great excuse to go true dual with hi flow cats. I was going to do it anyways, but now I have a reason to other than "It's cool"
Yeah I've been under the truck many of times. Sometimes the view is nice. But i grab the cat and hold it steady and sometimes it stops and other times you can hear something. It really does sound like a penney that drops on a table.
Really none of this clattering sound happened until after i put dual exhaust on the truck. It sounds nice but once the clattering sound starts to come around, it drives me bonkers.
Probably time for some new cats anyway. I don't know about running two high flow cats and two true duals. Might not be enough back pressure. That doesn't necessarily always give you more horsepower. But it would certainly sound nice.

Cufan, don't be frustrated. It is NOT your cats. Busa1 is wrong. BEFORE everyone on here buys cats, let me solve your problems. You were right, cufan, it's in the engine compartment. It's the bracket on the exhaust manifold. A stud broke. remove the other bolt holding it on and throw it in the trash. There is one on each side. They will both eventually make noise.
On the exhaust mainfold. It's a black bracket held on by two exhaust manifold studs. It has one big hole in it, for hooking a chain to the engine to remove it. I have seen alot of V-6 engines doing this, including mine.
