front u joints

ive got a 1994 f150.im putting new upper and lowwer ball joints in it .at the same time i want to change the 3 u joints.will every thing just slide out of the front differential or is their a clip inside holding the middle ujoint from sliding out.

The driver's side will slide right out. For the passenger's side, there's a boot with metal clips at both ends holding it in place over the slip joint. If you cut one of the clips off, you can pull the axle apart at the slip joint.

andym will the middle joint with the boot on it slid right out too.

The inboard axle shaft won't come out, but the outboard side will. The slip joint will separate at the boot.

how do i get the in board axle shaft out to replace the middle u joint

For that, you will have to pull the front diff out and remove the clip.
