I'm guessing you have a automatic?

I would try a local auto parts store and have them run the code, I think some places do it for free.

Could be a Camshaft Position Sensor, Or the accelerator pedal going out. Definately run the codes, it can sure help, if it shows up

Every time my CPS has gone out before the engine either runs or it won't.. The rough idle and engine running is what keeps throwing me off.. Also i noticed that it only happens in 1, 2, 0r D and if i put it in neutral let it idle it will go back to running fine and the check engine light shut's off after about 10-15 seconds?

The only thing I familiar with that will turn on a CEL and then reset is overboost. Without the code I'm not sure.

Sounds like it's starving for fuel. Clogged fuel filter, failing fuel pump.

CMP sensor is good, accelerator pedal is good, holds 65 PSI on the fuel system (external fuel regulator) Today it would do it instantly when i turned my chip on (it will do this with the chip in or out) I'm not overboosting I have a boost regulater on the MAP sensor that tells the boost pressure until 22PSI then it holds 22PSI until the boost drops back below that level.. I haven't had the time to take it in to get the codes read..

I really hate to sound like a nag, but your symptoms here are classic fuel starvation while under load. I need to hear you say the fuel pressure is holding at AT LEAST 55psi while under full throttle load. And that's not just a free rev in neutral, it needs to be ***** to the wall floored and accelorating.
Check this thread, Cookie88 was having the same problem, tried everything and it ended up being a fuel pump.

Ok, i just got my truck back from the ford dealer, took them 3 days to find the problem and fix it. Now i don't feel so bad. Here's the list of what they replaced, all 8 glow plugs, the valve cover gasket/wiring harness's, glow plug wiring harness, PCM to engine wiring harness, 2 fuel injectors, EBP sensor and reprogrammed the PCM. The wiring harness's melted.. I'm surprised it ran as good as it did when i took it in.

I only had to pay $459.83 ($100 is the 100,000 mi warrenty deductible) for part of the troubleshooting to uninstall and reinstall some after market parts i had on the fuel system the rest was covered under the 100,000 mi warrenty. I don't think i want to know how much it would have been..
