Clutch adjustment possible?
I hate to ask a lot of dumb questions, but here I go again. The clutch in my 94 Ranger is making a slight slipping or low growling noise as I take off on steep inclines. I can't tell if the clutch is starting to slip, or if the noise may be coming from the rear-end. My question is, Is there a way to tighten or adjust the clutch on my little truck? I'm no mechanic by any means, so whatever I have done will be performed by a qualified Ford mechanic. I know that it may cost a little more to take it to a dealership, but I want the work to be done right, hopefully the first time. What should I tell them to check, without them trying to sell me something that I don't necessarily need? Also, if I need a new clutch, how much will that cost me? I guess I need to start pricing some, to see what I can afford to do at this time. I just bought my little truck a few weeks ago, and I really like it a lot. Hopefully, I won't have too much expense in getting it into top shape. If the Lord is willing, I'm going to get me a new Ranger in a few years. My 94 model drives like a new one. I am so thrilled that I found this site, because of all the help that I've received from the educated guys on this site. Keep up the Great Work guys, and thanks a lot!Any info. will help. Be Cool.
