Need a quick parts description!
I can't find my repair book and need to find the name of a part if some one can help me fast. The part is some sort of air filter that is connected to the block in the back of the motor on the right side if your facing it from the front of the truck. it seems that it broke off from the threads that screw to the block.

If it's the part I'm thinking of, its called an air check valve. It's part of the air injection (emissions) system. It has a hose fitting on the top that goes to a rubber hose, and about a 3/4" pipe thread on the bottom that threads into a pipe that goes between the back of the heads. The welds that hold the top part on to the threaded part don't seem to be very strong, at least on mine they didn't. I just replaced the one on my 94, it was less than $20 but lost a lot of skin getting it changed cause there isn't much room between the firewall and the back of the block on a 5.8.

While I may look like a thread hijacker, I'm not. What is a Thermactor? I've asked about a part--either the same exact one as ripsterone or an associated part--and this was the part name I was given. Is this a correct name?
