um, probly a parts store, theu usualy have a big selection, and if you bring in the old one im sure they would be able to match it up to something they have in stock.
Did you tell the parts guy at Auto Zone what it was for? That probably not only confused them but limited their imagination. Pick some small car with the lightest weight hood you can think of and tell them you need a strut for it. I bet they come up with one. Good luck.
yeah, thats the best way to aproach it, you gotta remember, most of the people at those type of parts stores, it seems most of the time (around me anyways) if it isnt a sport compact, there clueless, and then sometimes there still clueless, even with those
Not to hijack a thread, BUT how can I put the foam stuff on so it doesn't peel up the paint onthe truck bed. I have an under rail spray-on bed liner. When i took my cap off last spring some of the paint peeled up. I was thinking of putting the foam tape right on the cap, will that work? Is there any new things out that might work?
Thanks for any and all suggestions.
P.S. Vdaily89: I replaced both of my struts to the tune of $40 for my Leer topper. That back glass is a lot heavier that I would have imagined!
I tried parts stores for struts for my Leer topper & none could help me. I found them at a topper store for $10 each. Quotes went as high as $30 each at some topper places, though.
