CEL Code - Running Lean
I have a 2001 Ford Expedition XLT with the 5.4L V8. I am at 85K miles. The service engine soon light has come on. At first, I thought maybe the air filter needed cleaned, so I bought the K&N kit and cleaned it. I reset the battery to clear the code but it came back 2 weeks later. I checked the gas cap and it is tight. I went to an auto parts store and used the OBDII tool to get the code. It says "P0171 System Too Lean Bank 1 and P0174 System Too Lean Bank 2." I thought maybe the injectors needed cleaned so I bought a can of Sea Foam and ran that through the gas tank. The injectors were last cleaned by the dealer at 36K miles. I think I will reset the battery again to see if the code comes back, but does anyone have any other ideas as to what this code could indicate as the problem?
