On DD2000 the "Wedge/ Fully Ported/ Large Valve" head option will get you close enough to the SCJ flow numbers for an initial estimate. You'll need flow numbers on your specific heads to refine the numbers.

Also, remember that DD predictions presume you are at sea level and your motor has been extensively tuned to max out every possible HP. Just bolting the parts toghether will not get you the predicted numbers.

By the way, the 850 carb is too small. To feed 514 cu inches at 6500 RPM you need at least 966 cfm. All the DD runs below were run with a 950 cfm carb setting.

For the above combo DD predicts 658 HP @6000, 655 lb-ft @4500 using your specified cam.

A switch to the new hyd rollor grind 325-2S-12 bumps things a little to 665 HP @6000 and 665 lb-ft @4500.

You're going to have a fair amount of money in the bottom end to get it to live at those revs, and the valve train will definitely have to be upgraded to handle it. For both runs the HP and torque curves were nice and fat. Looks like a pretty solid setup either way once you get everything tuned. Should make for a monster street build or once heckuva good mild strip motor.

thanks for the responce guys, a freind says he can make my demon carb 1000 cfm with minor modification, carb is almost new or i would go bigger. i am surprised only 10-15 hp for switch to roller cam. this motor should live no problem
@6000 h-beam rods, forged pistons ,completly ballanced rotating assembly . brad what would you recomend? to make combo better for race only, 2800 lb 4x4 buggy ,3500 stall 410 gears , transfer case in low 2-1= 810 final drive on 39.5x 18 cut boggers, 200 ft pit of mud. must stay with sollid cam, [the budget thing]. also i will use nos 175- 200 shot , thanks again

My bad on the above numbers. For some reason I though the specs you listed were for a solid roller. Swapping it to a non-roller profile drops the numbers significantly - 622 HP @6000, 625 lb-ft @4500.

I'm presuming the stroker crank you're getting is a forged unit. I don't know if a cast crank (unless it's nodular cast) will live under the kind of pounding it will get in a pit buggy.

You mentioned not going to a roller cam because of the money. I hope you're planning on budgeting for the head work and valve train equipment it'll take to support a 514 at these revs. Don't kid yourself, this build will not be cheap. You're going to have as much, or more, in the heads and valvetrain as you will in the shortblock. Jumping from a solid to a roller will only be a small step after the kind of investment you will already be making, although there will be some added complexity in the roller setup vs a solid lifter cam.
