i am looking to order a new f250 next week right now i tow a 5000lb boat in north west new jersey and am trying to decide between the 5.4 or v10 , the extra cost of the 6.0 would be 120 dollars a month or to much on top 400 . plus gas at 192 p/g ver. 225 p/g diesel
what i am thinking of is f250 s/c lariat captains chairs , v10 or 5.4, auto trans, 4.10 limited slip .tow command, electronic shift 4x4,power slider, and some others,
pros and cons will be of major help as i can not wait to get out of my lifetime mistake of trading in a 95 f150 for a dodge
V-10 all the way its only a $600 upgrade and you will have all the power you need now and for later. Dont short change yourself and your truck get the V10
I second the V10. There has been many debates over MPG between the two and there is not a whole lot of difference in milage. I have a 03' V10 with 33K on it and I couldn't be happier with the engine.
thanks for the good words . i felt the v10 was the way to go but the dealer is pushing the diesels in stock on his lot, plus it adds 120 dollars a month
going over this afternoon and order
thanks again
I had decided to go with the PSD for my 2005 SD, until today. Today I passed a gas station that had the price of diesel at 60 cents a gallon more than regular unleaded. $1.72 for regular unleaded vs $2.32 for diesel. (This is in Atlanta, GA) That makes diesel 35% more expensive than gas, and cuts into the diesel's MPG advantage. The V10 is starting to make more sense.
