I own a 1998 F150 4x4. just broke the right rear spring in front of the rear end housing where their is a small shim.
Any history of this problem and what is the difference in a D spring and a G spring.
Thank All.
Hi John,
Did you get the spring replaced?
Ford has been bad the last few years about spring ratings. They don't seem to want to give out that info anymore.
Hi,
Yes, ran out of time waiting for Ford.
Called a spring shop, the price over the top.
Found two at a large junk yard, the only difference was D to G springs.
The spring shop said to remove the steel shims at the center bolt, all have broken at the same place.
Went with new shocks. Road tested better than before.
